Common Questions
Does Aeon substitute my primary care physician / family doctor?
Arrow Down

No. Aeon does not replace your primary care physician. We focus on integrative health optimization and longevity medicine, complementing but not replacing the care you receive from your doctor.

Are these services covered by AHS?
Arrow Down

Aeon is a private health care clinic so we don’t charge for anything covered by AHS and many patients are able to have portions of their services covered by their benefits/insurance plan. We recommend checking with your plan to see what is eligible for coverage.

How do I get started?
Arrow Down

The first step is a complimentary consultation. We’ll listen to your goals, learn more about your health, and explain how our approach works — so you can see if Aeon is the right fit for you.

What makes Aeon different?
Arrow Down

Aeon takes a collaborative, co-care approach to your health. Practitioners from different backgrounds work together to understand the full picture of your body. We don’t just run tests and hand you the results — we guide you through what matters most, helping you prioritize and take actionable steps to optimize your health today and proactively support your wellness for the future.

How is Aeon different from regular lab work?
Arrow Down

Many of our patients experience regular bloodwork results “within normal range”. At Aeon, we go deeper and factor in multiple biomarkers. We look for what’s optimal, often uncovering hidden imbalances and guiding you toward peak health, not just the absence of illness.

Does Aeon direct bill benefit plans?
Arrow Down

No. We don’t direct bill benefit plans, but we provide an itemized receipt so you can easily submit for reimbursement.

Does my benefits/insurance cover any of the costs?
Arrow Down

Many patients are able to have portions of their services covered by their benefits/insurance plan. We recommend checking with your plan to see what is eligible for coverage.

Health Assessment

Health Assessment
What does the Health Assessment include?
Arrow Down

The Health Assessment helps you understand your body and optimize your health moving forward. We start by reviewing your personal and family history, goals, and lifestyle. You’ll then complete your baseline assessment, which includes advanced bloodwork, a body composition scan, and strength and mobility testing. From there, you’ll meet individually with your co-care team — your Dietitian, Naturopathic Doctor, and Medical Practitioner — who provide tailored guidance based on your assessment. Finally, your Patient Coordinator will review all findings with you, consolidating recommendations and outlining clear next steps so you have a personalized, actionable plan to move forward.

How long does the Health Assessment take?
Arrow Down

The Health Assessment takes about 4 – 6 weeks from your first test to your final review. This allows time for complete testing, analysis, and a thorough care team review.

Who will I meet with during the Health Assessment?
Arrow Down

Your multidisciplinary co-care team includes a Medical Practitioner, Naturopathic Doctor, Dietitian, Fitness Coach, and Patient Coordinator.

What do I get at the end of the Health Assessment?
Arrow Down

You’ll receive a personalized health roadmap. It explains your results, highlights key priorities, and outlines clear steps to optimize your health and longevity.

How frequently do I need to do the Health Assessment?
Arrow Down

The Health Assessment is most valuable at the start of your journey to set a baseline.

Is the Health Assessment worth the investment?
Arrow Down

Yes. It provides answers, clarity, and direction through comprehensive testing and expert guidance. Patients often share it’s the first time they’ve felt fully understood and supported.

PROGRAMS

Core Membership

Plus Icon
Core Membership
What makes the CORE Program different from a regular clinic program?
Arrow Down

CORE is a year-long program designed for lasting results. Instead of one-off visits, you get a co-care team that builds and adjusts a tailored plan with you. The program includes milestone check-ins, progress tracking, and support focused on health optimization and longevity.

How do the CORE milestone check-ins work?
Arrow Down

You’ll have check-ins at months 3, 7, and 11. Each one includes updated bloodwork, a body composition scan, and repeat strength and mobility testing. This shows your progress and helps your team refine your plan.

Do I have to commit for the full year CORE Program?
Arrow Down

Yes. CORE is 12 months because meaningful, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. A year gives us the time to guide you through real, sustainable health improvements.

Can I focus on just one issue, like hormones or weight on the CORE Program?
Arrow Down

Yes. Many people start CORE with one goal, like balancing hormones, improving energy, or losing weight. Because your body is connected, you’ll often see benefits in other areas too.

What happens after the 12 months?
Arrow Down

At the end of the program, we’ll review your results and talk through options. Some people choose another year of CORE, while others transition to a lower touch program once their goals have been met.

Does CORE replace my primary care provider?
Arrow Down

No. Aeon isn’t a primary care clinic. We focus on optimization and longevity, working alongside your family doctor. With your consent, we can share results so your doctor stays updated.

Women's HHB Program

Plus Icon
Women's HHB Program
Who is the HHB Program for?
Arrow Down

The HHB program is for women experiencing perimenopause, menopause, or symptoms that may suggest a hormonal imbalance.

What does treatment look like with HHB?
Arrow Down

HHB is a year-long program, where you’ll work closely with a physician-registered nurse care team. Together, they develop a tailored hormonal health treatment plan to support your symptoms and overall wellbeing. The program includes three milestone check ins where we: track your symptoms, monitor your labs, adjust treatments as needed.

What is HRT?
Arrow Down

HRT stands for Hormone Replacement Therapy. As a woman’s body ages, hormone levels naturally fluctuate and decline which can lead to a range of symptoms. HRT can help restore these hormones to healthier levels.

What hormones are typically involved in HRT for women?
Arrow Down

HRT typically involves estrogen, progesterone, and sometimes testosterone. The type, dose, and combination is dependent on your age, symptoms, and goals. Hormones can help to relieve symptoms but can also support long term health including protecting bone density, cardiac health, and brain health.

Why do I need to start with the Health Assessment before starting HRT?
Arrow Down

The Health Assessment gives us a complete picture of your health. Hormonal symptoms are often multifactorial and starting with baseline labs and diagnostics helps us identify the root contributors to create the safest, most effective plan.

What is the risk of HRT?
Arrow Down

At Aeon, patient safety is our top priority. HRT using bio-identical hormonal replacement is generally very safe. While there are a few medical conditions such as known history of blood clots or active breast cancer that warrant further discussion, it’s safe and effective for most patients.

At what age should I start HRT?
Arrow Down

There’s no single “right” age. Most women begin considering HRT in their 40s or 50s as they move through perimenopause or menopause. Symptoms can be managed from the early stages of perimenopause all the way to a decade or more after menopause. For preventative benefits, starting hormones (particularly estrogen) soon after menopause starts can be the most effective approach.

Do you use bi-identical hormones at Aeon?
Arrow Down

Yes. At Aeon, we always try to replace hormones that are identical to your own body’s hormones. These are well-studied, safe, and effective when used under medical supervision.

What is your philosophy about HRT?
Arrow Down

Our approach is personalized, evidence-based, and focused on whole-person health and safety. We often look to hormonal optimization not just for symptomatic relief but also as a cornerstone to health optimization and longevity. We go further than typical guidelines by incorporating testosterone when necessary. We also monitor estrogen levels since the right balance of serum estrogen levels help maintain bone strength and heart health.

Am I a candidate for HRT?
Arrow Down

Every patient is unique. We’ll review your health history, lab results, and goals to determine if HRT is safe and right for you. Our process ensures treatment is tailored to your biology and aligned with your long-term health.

How soon will I see improvements after starting the HHB Program?
Arrow Down

Many women will notice early changes to symptoms within a few weeks. However, some changes such as libido, energy, and sexual vitality can take a few months. Other benefits, like muscle composition or bone density improvements, may take several months. Full results often develop over 6 – 12 months with regular monitoring and adjustments.

Does your program include GLP-1 or target thyroid issues?
Arrow Down

At this time, our program doesn’t include GLP-1 therapies or a dedicated thyroid-focused protocol.

Men's HHB Program

Plus Icon
Men's HHB Program
Who is the HHB Program for?
Arrow Down

HHB is for men with symptoms of hormonal imbalance such as low energy, fatigue, reduced muscle strength, brain fog, low libido, or confirmed low testosterone levels.

What does the HHB Program include?

For men, this typically refers to Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT).

What is HRT for men?
Arrow Down

TRT restores testosterone levels in men with deficiency (often due to aging or hypogonadism). It can improve energy, libido, mood, cognition, muscle mass, and long-term health. Roughly 1 in 4 men between ages 40–62 are biochemically testosterone deficient.

Why do I need to do the Health Assessment before starting HRT?
Arrow Down

Hormonal imbalance rarely happens in isolation. Sleep, stress, nutrition, thyroid health, and gut function all affect hormone levels. The Health Assessment ensures we identify underlying contributors and design a plan that restores balance safely and effectively.

What are the risks of HRT?
Arrow Down

When carefully monitored, TRT is safe for most men with deficiency. Risks can include elevated red blood cell counts, prostate concerns, or cardiovascular issues in predisposed individuals. At Aeon, every patient is screened thoroughly, monitored regularly, and guided with the latest scientific evidence.

At what age should I start HRT?
Arrow Down

Testosterone levels typically decline by ~2% per year starting in the late 30s to early 40s. There’s no fixed age to start, the decision depends on symptoms, lab results, and overall health. If low testosterone is affecting your well-being, it’s worth exploring earlier rather than later.

What is your philosophy about HRT?
Arrow Down

We view testosterone optimization as one tool in a broader strategy for health and longevity. That means addressing root causes, supporting lifestyle changes, and using TRT only when it’s safe, effective, and aligned with your long-term goals.

Am I a candidate for HRT?
Arrow Down

Each plan at Aeon is completely individualized. Your eligibility depends on your symptoms, lab results, health history, and goals. If it’s a good fit, your clinician will design a personalized plan that’s both safe and effective.

How soon will I see improvements after starting the HHB Program?
Arrow Down

Many men feel improvements in energy, mood, and sexual health within weeks. Gains in muscle mass, strength, and body composition often take 6–12 months. Our approach also integrates nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, and targeted therapies to maximize results.

Does your program include GLP-1?
Arrow Down

At this time, our HHB program doesn’t include GLP-1 therapies but we often couple in other programs like CORE.

Do you include Human Growth Hormone (hGH)?
Arrow Down

Human Growth Hormone, or hGH, is made by your pituitary gland and helps keep your body strong and resilient. It signals the production of IGF-I, a key factor that supports muscle tone, bone density, metabolism, and recovery. At Aeon, we can test your hGH levels to see if they’re lower than optimal. If they are, your Medical Practitioner can create a personalized plan to restore balance and support your body’s natural regenerative systems.

Gut Health Optimization

Plus Icon
Gut Health Optimization
What is included in the Gut Health Program?
Arrow Down

The Gut Health Program lasts 4–6 months with 10+ touchpoints. It begins with advanced stool, blood, and breath testing. Your Primary Clinician and Naturopathic Doctor then guide you through three phases of repair: eradication, rebuild, and maintenance, with the goal of lasting improvements to gut health and overall well-being.

How long does the program last?
Arrow Down

The Gut Health Program typically runs 4–6 months. Each journey is unique – some people may need repeat testing or extended support depending on their results.

Do I need a Health Assessment first?
Arrow Down

No. We start with a complimentary consultation to understand your goals and concerns. From there, we’ll recommend whether to begin directly with the Gut Health Program or to start with a Health Assessment for a full baseline picture. Many patients choose the Health Assessment first to gain broader insight before focusing on gut health.

How will I know if it’s working?
Arrow Down

Gut repair is a process, and for some, it can feel a bit worse before it feels better, depending on how imbalanced things are to start. Others notice improvements more quickly. Your care team will track your progress through regular testing and guide you through each phase of your Gut Health Program, making adjustments along the way to support steady, long-term results.

What symptoms can it help with?
Arrow Down

Patients often see improvements in digestion, nutrient absorption, energy, skin, mood, and reduced bloating and inflammation.

Do you offer peptides?
Arrow Down

Peptides in Canada are currently limited, and at Aeon we offer all those that are available, including oral BPC-157, Sermorelin (growth hormone secretagogue), and GLP-1 (such as Ozempic or Mounjaro). . Our approach ensures these therapies are integrated thoughtfully into your personalized health plan when appropriate, guided by our co-care team.

IV Therapy

IV Therapy

Plus Icon
IV Therapy
What is IV therapy?
Arrow Down

IV therapy (intravenous therapy) is a treatment that delivers vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into your bloodstream through an intravenous drip. Because it bypasses digestion, your body absorbs the nutrients fully and quickly, making it an efficient way to restore energy, hydration, and balance.

How long does an IV session take?
Arrow Down

First appointments, including the infusion, take approximately 60 – 90mins. Subsequent IVs typically run between 30-60mins. Your safety and wellbeing are a priority. It is always best to ensure you have extra time should we need to slow an IV drip rate for your comfort or should you need time for observation after an infusion.

Do I need a referral for IVs at Aeon?
Arrow Down

No referral is required. However, your first IV includes a no-charge consult with our Medical Practitioner to determine the safest, most effective plan for you.

What type of supervision is present during the infusions?
Arrow Down

All IVs are administered by a trained nurse.

How much do infusions cost?
Arrow Down

IVs range from $165–$350 depending on the nutrients used. Some Aeon memberships include preferred pricing.

Does my insurance cover any of the cost of IV Therapy?
Arrow Down

Many patients with Health Spending Accounts or Out-of-Hospital Nursing benefits get partial or full coverage. We provide detailed receipts and physician notes to help you confirm eligibility with your provider.

What are the risks with IV therapy?
Arrow Down

Complications are rare. Minor soreness or bruising at the IV site can happen. Serious reactions like allergies or vein irritation are very uncommon. At Aeon, all IVs are supervised clinically to keep you safe.

Arrow Down

Rapid absorption, higher nutrient delivery than oral supplements, and quick relief of fatigue, dehydration, or deficiency symptoms.

Arrow Down

It’s not a substitute for healthy nutrition, requires an appointment, and in rare cases may cause mild side effects like nausea or headache.

What are the benefits of IV therapy?
Arrow Down

Different IVs have different benefits. Some can help boost energy, hydrate your body, support recovery, strengthen immunity, improve skin tone, and relieve symptoms of stress or burnout. Your Medical Practitioner can help determine what IV Therapy is right for you.

How often should I get IV therapy?
Arrow Down

For treatment, IV scheduling is individualized based on your symptoms and clinical need, and dependent on your Medical Practitioner’s recommendations.

What are micronutrients?
Arrow Down

Micronutrients are essential vitamins and minerals your body needs in small amounts to function, like vitamin C, magnesium, or zinc.

What are micronutrient deficiencies?
Arrow Down

Deficiencies happen when your body doesn’t get or absorb enough vitamins or minerals. Symptoms can include fatigue, poor immunity, slow recovery, or brain fog.

What ingredients are known to help with migraine symptoms?
Arrow Down

IVs with magnesium, B vitamins, and hydration support are often used to help reduce migraine frequency and intensity. For acute migraines, we often use the same medications used in urgent care or medical setting including maxeran, ketororac, and methylprednisolone.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for my IV Therapy?
Arrow Down

Eat a light meal or snack and stay hydrated before your visit. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Take the elevator for steadier blood pressure readings. Always tell us about any new prescriptions, supplements, or diet changes.

How can genetic testing inform personalized IV recommendations?
Arrow Down

Sections on Specific Nutrient Needs (e.g., vitamins A, B2, B12, C, D & Calcium, E, folic acid, iron, omega-3 fatty acids) and Detox pathways (e.g., glutathione, sulfur removal), help us identify potential inefficiencies in nutrient processing or detoxification which can help us provide an IV therapy that is specific to optimizing your DNA to enhance immune pathways and improve detoxication.

Iron Infusion

Plus Icon
Iron Infusion
What is an iron infusion?
Arrow Down

An iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream via IV. It’s used when iron can’t be absorbed properly from food or supplements, or when levels are too low to correct with diet alone.

Do I need a referral for an Iron Infusion?
Arrow Down

You either need a referral from family physicians, naturopaths, midwives, and other specialists or lab results confirming you have low iron levels.

How long does the treatment take?
Arrow Down

First appointments, including the infusion, take approximately 90–120 mins. Subsequent IVs typically run 60 mins. Your safety and wellbeing are a priority. It is always best to ensure you have extra time should we need to slow an IV drip rate for your comfort or should you need time for observation after an infusion.

Arrow Down

You should avoid supplements for the day of the infusion and for the day following.

Are there any side effects from having an iron infusion?
Arrow Down

Most patients do not have side effects. 1/10 may have a mild rash, flushing, or flu-like symptoms may occur and usually resolve within days. Rarely, serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) can happen but that rate is 1/200,000, which is why we infuse under medical supervision. Call us immediately if you have concerns after treatment.

How much do Iron Infusions cost?
Arrow Down

For iron infusions there are two charges: the iron itself and a clinic fee for the IV administration. Please note that iron is a prescribed medication which must be paid for and filled at Script pharmacy prior to your visit.
